UPDATE: According to damage survey vessel was damaged at the aft quarter. Serious structural damages were noted on the accommodation block, crew cabins, mess rooms, ship office and pertinent connections.
Vessel was struck by general cargo ship TURAN C while anchored at Ahirkapi Anchorage, Istanbul, Marmara sea. BURHAN DIZMAN sustained serious damages portside in superstructure area and TURAN C suffered bow and forecastle damages. TURKAN C was en route to Constanta and BURHAN DIZMAN was en route to Novorossiysk.

A 34-year-old crew member needed immediate hospital treatment northwest of the Gulf of Chania en route from Aviles, Spain to Damietta, Egypt. A patrol boat picked up the patient and transported him to the “Porto Veniziano” in Chania, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the General Hospital of Chania for medical treatment.
