Cruise ship was caught in bad weather and had to sail to Boston, Massachusetts, while en route from New York to Florida and the Bahamas. Heavy rain and strong winds were forecast in Florida and the Bahamas so vessel was to be docked in Boston until 19 December before heading to Portland, Maine and then Saint John, Newfoundland, then returning to New York.

Casualty details
A woman fell overboard and died when the vessel was off the coast of Florida. The coast guard launched a search and rescue operation involving a 45-foot vessel and a helicopter. A pilot boat located the woman's body and alerted members of the Coast Guard. It is not clear how the woman came to fall overboard, authorities have said.
